If I look back at my life, it isn’t the times I decided to fight that changed my life – it is the times I surrendered that brought about the most growth and the biggest changes. The most productive leaps forward are always preceded by an uncomfortable process in which I am confronted by my own shortcomings, a bit of self pity & arguing with God, then a realization that it’s only through Him that I can achieve whatever goal or challenge I’m facing. Then comes the surrender- the giving my will and my timeline over to Him. That part is hard, but what’s even harder is the next step: GET THE HECK OUT OF HIS WAY & LET HIM WORK! Once I get to the point of surrender, I find myself feeling some relief and even proud of myself for turning my will over to Him. But most of the time, almost immediately, I grab the reigns again and say “Ok God, so glad you’re helping ME with this, now let’s go get it done!” No, sister friend, NO!! When you give it to Him, get out of the way. Even if it means surrendering something or someone 50+ times in your heart throughout the day.. (cause that’s how I have to do it for sure 🤦🏼♀️) Give it up, get surrendered, and get out of the way!
