Abundance mindset

Writer's picture: Healer TaraLynnHealer TaraLynn

I grew up in a home where money was always an issue. My parents fought about it. Decisions were solely made around it. Scarcity + fear were always present. My dad would go as far as collecting wrapping paper from presents + saving it in the garage to use again. My mom would unconsciously talk negatively about people who had more than we did. As a child I learned— resources must be hoarded. They are not to be shared.

Then, I entered the academic world where it was drilled into my head that people owned concepts + ideas. Only a select few could speak on topics + those people were “experts” who had that right. All along I was conditioned to compete.

When I came to social media in 2018, I quite literally had nothing— except never ending credit card debt + an absurd amount of student loans. On a deeper level I held many core beliefs about the world from my childhood. “There’s never enough” was always present, but behind that belief I found out what I really believed to be true about myself: I am not worthy of having more. I am not “one of those” people.

So, I went on a journey of completely re-wiring the way I saw (first myself) + second, the world. I started listening to new content, new voices that told stories so different from what I heard from when I grew up— voices that said impact is created through believing there’s abundance. And, I removed fear based voices that affirmed the core belief I already had that there wasn’t enough. Or voices that promoted competing, or tearing down anyone else.

You can absorb all the information you want, but to integrate it (live it) it must be practiced. So I practiced. I started to share everything I knew on these platforms. I gave endless amounts of my time for free. I believed that the path would unfold for me if I never strayed from my own values. And, to this day that is my entire business model.

Abundance consciousness takes practice. It takes commitment. I’m still on this journey. But there is one thing I know to be true— the more you give, the more you uplift others, the more you work beyond the limited reactions of the terrified ego, the more you gain.

This is the spiritual journey #selfhealers
