Special words

I think it’s time to share my words. Yes plural! I love the idea of having a particular word for the year..something that God has put on my heart to help keep me focused on my path. But as I’ve prayed and read and sought God these last few weeks and days, I kept coming back to the same two words. I couldn’t choose one over the other. As soon as I would settle on one, God would put the other in my reading or on my heart and it just became unavoidable that these words were to have my focus and not one without the other. SURRENDER & BALANCE I am nothing without Him, and any sort of successful life I hope to build MUST be built on moments of surrender. The little things have to be surrendered. My heart, my desires, everything I think I’m right about, my frustrations, my own will, my first moments of the day, the last thoughts before bed, and EVERYTHING in between MUST be surrendered to Him in order for God to mold the chaos that is my life into something He can use. I’ve talked a lot about the word SURRENDER and how integral it has been both in my recovery journey and my spiritual walk. I hope to dive deeper into a place of total surrender this year & I’m so excited to see where that takes me! BALANCE: I am so guilty of being hyper focused on something “good” in my life & neglecting other things that need my attention. Or finding something I enjoy and doing nothing else for weeks while I put ALL my energy into that one thing. I become passionate about things (like social media😜) that, while they may be good things, they do not deserve as much time and energy as I give them. Other, more important things in my life sometimes suffer because I’m OUT OF BALANCE. Pray with me that these two words lead me to a new space in 2021, where God can use me in new ways.
